Be Part of Our Story

The Shakori Hills Community Arts Center is a non-profit organization* that was created to provide an environment for community building through arts and education. Our largest event and fundraiser, the Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival is held here twice a year – as well as SHCAC events: the Hoppin’ John Old-Time & Bluegrass Fiddlers’ Convention, NC Stars in the Round, and A Carolina Luau. The SHCAC is also a place intended for classes, camps, retreats, weddings, fundraisers, concerts, and just a general appreciation of who we are as a community.

Want to join in? Here's how:

In order to buy the land at Shakori Hills for you and for future generations of festival-goers, families, artists, educators, and explorers, we must first raise a down payment of $75,000. Right now, we have raised over $53,000 – so very close, but we still have a bit to go and need your help getting there.

While we gratefully accept donations of any size, we are offering pairs of GrassRoots Festival tickets as our **gift of appreciation to our donors of $1000 or more. Here are the levels of giving and what festival tickets donors will receive:

Donations of $1000 to $2499 - A pair of tickets per festival for 3 years
Donations of $2500 to $4999 - A pair of tickets per festival for 7 years
Donations of $5000 to $9999 - A pair of tickets per festival for 15 years
Donations of $10,000 or more - A pair of tickets per festival for the donor’s lifetime

Please contribute whatever you are able. Gift certificates are also available as a gift to someone else. Donations to the SHCAC are tax deductible.** If you have any questions, do not see the amount you wish to give, or want to know more about the SHCAC, please do not hesitate to call us at 919-542-1746 or email information@shakorihillscommunityartscenter.org.

*Our 501(c)(3) application is currently pending.

**If you choose to receive GrassRoots tickets they are valued at current gate prices for tax purposes, disclaimed per request and on tax receipts to donors.
